Ask a Lawyer: When Can I Cut Dad's Rights Off?
My question is: What do I do if the father of my child hasn't had anything to do with the child since he was three weeks old? I have had good contact information for him but he still will not help out. I don't want him to pay child support; I just want full rights to my son. Currently, my child is in another state with his grandparents. We are trying to allow my son to go on vacation to another country with them but I cannot get him to sign the paperwork to allow it. What rights do I have and what...

Circuit Judge Charles E. Clawson Jr. of Conway issued the decision in a letter mailed last week to attorneys for Anne Throneberry and Ted Throneberry's father, Vernie Throneberry of North Little Rock. Clawson ruled in a probate case filed in Van Buren County Circuit Court by Vernie Throneberry, who asked to disqualify his former daughter-in-law from the inheritance.

FORT WORTH, Texas _ A 70-year-old Fort Worth woman has been identified by federal authorities as the ringleader of a three-generation family fraud ring that arranged fake marriages to U.S. citizens so foreigners could get legal permanent residence status and later U.S. citizenship.
Va. Court of Appeals: Barrett v. Commonwealth of Va.
Domestic Relations - Child Support - Custody Award The fact that a mother was awarded sole legal custody of the parties' children does not mean the father was relieved of his obligation to pay child support, the Court of Appeals holds.
