James Williamson earned his J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 2003, and spent several years working in the Ramsey County Attorney's Office in the Juvenile Prosecution Division, and the Child Support Enforcement Division. His time with Ramsey County allowed him to work in his preferred area of family law, and provided him with extensive courtroom experience as well as the opportunity to hone his skills in resolving family legal issues. Jim joined M. Sue Wilson Law Offices, P.A. in 2004 and has been involved in both trial and appellate level work including appearing before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Jim previously served in the U.S. Air Force, where he learned discipline and the value of teamwork. Subsequent to his military service, Jim earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, magna cum laude, at the University of North Dakota, and worked for a number of years as an IT Professional in charge of overall network design and administration. He feels that his time in the information technology field taught him analytical thinking and creative, efficient problem solving, both of which have served him well in his legal career.

Jim brings his varied life experience, talent and enthusiasm to the firm. Outside the office, Jim spends most of his time with his wife, and two children as well as being an avid golfer and runner. “I'm a pretty boring guy. I love being a husband and a dad and practicing law. I'm very fortunate."
